They have some great games under their belt, but also huge disasters that required prudence<\/strong>. While some were skeptical, many others outwardly scorned and attacked news about the project from the start. What we are now experiencing is not a negative response to the game, but to the fact that it is not being poorly received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The embargo on Silent Hill 2 Remake has ended, and its reviews are tremendously positive. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metacritic.com\/game\/silent-hill-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Accumulating an 87 on Metacritic<\/a> <strong>with 58 different reviews, 88% of which are positive, it is a much more positive reception than we expected<\/strong>. This is much in line other recent remakes, such as Dead Space, with an 89 on Metacritic, and unanimously acclaimed by players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-embed-handler wp-block-embed-embed-handler wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"SILENT HILL 2 | Launch Trailer (4K: EN\/PEGI) | KONAMI\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VDO39mY2gq4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good reviews have been very poorly received among a certain group of players, convinced that this is not possible. <strong>They have decided that the game is bad, it must be bad<\/strong>. This has led them to vandalize the Wikipedia page, lying about its reception, and going so far as to say &#8220;it has received the worst imaginable reviews.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The fake reviews are a  coordinated move to attack the game for being considered a &#8220;woke&#8221; remake that attacks the essence of the original, making women less attractive and men less strong<\/strong>. This has led to Wikipedia intervening on the page and placing it in a semi-protected state where it can only be edited by a select group of editors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This has caught the attention of people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/silenthill\/comments\/1fwvmqb\/seriously_trolls_cant_handle_sh2rs_success_so\/?utm_source=embedv2&amp;utm_medium=post_embed&amp;utm_content=post_body&amp;embed_host_url=https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/silent-hill-2-remake-wikipedia-page-locked-after-salty-fans-try-to-rewrite-its-critically-acclaimed-reception\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">both on the Silent Hill Reddit<\/a> and on social media, causing the alarm that led Wikipedia to lock the page. Their decision was <strong>prudent, as the function of the encyclopedia remains informative<\/strong>. Allowing constant vandalism by a group of people unable to accept that the world does not revolve around their ideas is not positive for anyone.
