Starting at the end of this month, Prime Video subscribers will have the option to subscribe to Apple TV+ as an add-on to our regular subscription. A move that represents a new alliance between two of the giants of digital entertainment: Amazon and Apple. A move with which Apple seeks to expand its user base by leveraging the platform of the internet sales giant.

A way to facilitate the management, access, and enjoyment of the Apple TV+ catalog

Although Apple TV+ is already available on most devices where Amazon Prime Video is present, the option to subscribe directly through the Prime Video app can simplify the experience for many. The possibility of managing both Prime Video and Apple TV+ in a single application and with a single bill is one of the main attractions of this agreement.

In the words of Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, “we want to make Apple TV+ and its award-winning library of series and movies from the world’s best storytellers available to as many viewers as possible.”

As stated in the announcement release, this feature could be especially interesting for those unsure about how to subscribe to Apple’s service. Apple TV+ is available on a wide variety of devices, including smart TVs, consoles, and third-party streaming platforms. However, the convenience of subscribing and managing through an app as popular as Prime Video can be a decisive factor for many who have not yet made the leap to Apple’s service.

The third interesting point is how this agreement will enhance the use of Apple TV+ on Android devices. Currently, Apple TV+ does not have a dedicated app for Android, but by subscribing through Prime Video, Android users will have access to all Apple TV+ content directly in the Prime app.

While Apple has changed its strategy with streaming, the subscription price for Apple TV+ through Prime Video will be the same as that for direct subscription through Apple: $9.99 per month. On the other hand, Prime Video remains an independent subscription ranging from $8.99 to $17.98 per month, depending on the additional packages we configure.

With this new alliance between Apple and Amazon, it will be easier than ever to subscribe and enjoy the Apple TV+ catalog. A catalog that is accumulating viewing successes and awards at an astonishing rate and is gradually earning its place in the streaming landscape.
