One of the statues designed for Assassin’s Creed Shadows<\/strong> has been withdrawn after receiving numerous criticisms for its “insensitive design”. PureArts<\/strong>, the responsible company, publicly apologized last Tuesday for this and has stated that they are already redesigning the figure. <\/p>\n\n\n

PureArts presented last September a statue from the Qlectors line featuring the main characters of Shadows, Yasuke and Naoe. The original design showed the characters stylized with a chibi aesthetic while a torii gate<\/strong> could be seen in the background. It is specifically the gate that has sparked a wave of criticism from many Japanese users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to these users, the design of the torii gate closely resembled the Sann\u014d Shrine in Nagasaki<\/strong>, a place that was almost destroyed by the atomic bomb that devastated the city in 1945. In response, the company issued the following apology on X: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We recently published an inappropriate design. We have appreciated and learned from the feedback that has been sent to us and we apologize for the harm caused. After reading and processing the comments, we have gone back to the drawing board and are currently reworking the design of the Qlectors of Assassin’s Creed Shadows of Yasuke and Naoe.
