Nintendo fans are still without news of Switch 2 (a tip: check out its Reddit forum, with people absolutely desperate to find and follow obviously false clues), so we have to console ourselves with what we have. Sometimes it’s a new game like Mario Party Jamboree, and other times, well, a ‘demake’ of The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild that has been found on a Nintendo DS. You might have raised your eyebrows wondering ‘Sorry, what do you mean?’ And yes. Exactly that.

Imagine buying an old flashcard on AliExpress and what you receive contains a remake of Breath of the Wild made for Nintendo DS, with all the pixel luxury. Well, that’s what someone found, unable to believe what was happening. Was it an experiment by Nintendo? Who had done this? What was going on? The solution is usually far less exciting than any movie we imagine in our heads.

In 2019, the first images of this demake appeared on BilliBilli, the Chinese YouTube, but this ROM confirms its real existence. After weeks of arduous searching and investigations that would put the FBI to shame, the creator finally made an appearance on Twitter. His name, Ermelber, might leave you completely indifferent (what did you expect, that it was Shigeru Miyamoto in person?), but what he says is frankly interesting and a lesson for the next supposed conspiracy we concoct on the Internet.
