According to a report by Ampere Analysis<\/a>, the new eagerness of streamers to prioritize profits over subscriptions will soon be felt significantly in the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ampere forecasts growth of more than 30% by 2029<\/strong>, as services focus on profitability and monetization per subscriber. In 2029, the annual revenues of the global subscription streaming market will exceed 190 billion dollars, of which Netflix will account for almost a third, according to the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Objective: 2 billion subscribers worldwide<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although Ampere predicted that global subscribers will reach a milestone by surpassing 2 billion in 2029<\/strong>, this increase of 200 million in the next five years will be much smaller than in the previous five-year period, when subscribers doubled during the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Netflix changed course a couple of years ago and was followed by several others. The contraction of the market and the Hollywood strikes contributed to the change in strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an attempt to improve their results, streaming companies have introduced measures such as ads and shared passwords<\/strong>. According to Ampere, subscription streaming is expected to generate an additional 22 billion dollars from advertising sales, as traditionally ad-free streaming services have switched.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ampere forecasts that just under a third of subscriber growth will come from the Asia-Pacific region, with about 600 million people, a figure similar to that of North America.<\/p>\n\n\n
