The renowned analyst and investor Matthew Ball, from Epyllion, has presented an extensive 219-page report titled State of Video Gaming in 2025<\/a>, which examines the potential growth of the video game industry in the coming years. One of the report’s highlights is the possibility that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI), scheduled to be released this year, could cost between $80 and $100<\/strong>, thus breaking the current price barrier of $70 for AAA releases.<\/p>\n\n\n

Although it sounds absurd, there are good reasons to believe it will happen<\/h2>\n\n\n

Ball believes that this move could mark a turning point in the industry, allowing other developers to follow suit and raise their prices. It is worth mentioning that Take-Two Interactive, the company behind GTA, was one of the first to implement a price increase in 2020, raising them from $60 to $70<\/strong>. With the highly anticipated release of GTA VI, attention is likely to focus on how this change will impact the market overall.<\/p>\n\n\n

The report also highlights that, although the release of GTA VI will generate great interest<\/a>, it may also cannibalize gaming time and spending that would be allocated to other titles, limiting opportunities for other developers.
