Don’t worry, the PS5 still has some life left. Or so many of us hope, because the games haven’t exactly supported it. However, the remake of Final Fantasy VII has held up perfectly, and it will continue to do so. The much-anticipated third part will not be exclusive to the future PlayStation 6, according to statements from producer Yoshinori Kitase<\/strong> in a recent interview with 4Gamer. Unlike its predecessors, Remake and Rebirth, which were released first on PS4 and PS5, respectively, this new installment promises to be available on both PS5 and PS6, with possibilities of also being released on Xbox and PC at the same time.<\/p>\n\n

PS6? ALREADY?<\/h2>\n\n\n

The game’s development began in March\/April 2024, right after the release of Rebirth. Kitase confirmed that the storyline is already completed, which means that after about nine months of work, the Square Enix team is making good progress towards the culmination of this trilogy<\/strong>. However, fans will have to wait until 2028 to play it, at which time the arrival of the PS6 is expected, a fact that has raised concerns about exclusivity, recalling the supply issues that affected the PS5 at its launch.<\/p>\n\n\n

Although there will be no exclusivity for PS6, this does not guarantee that the title will not depend on Sony’s platform for its release. Unlike its predecessors, Square Enix’s decision could be influenced by the sales of Rebirth, which were below expectations<\/strong>. This context could lead the company to consider a broader and less Sony-focused release, including an Xbox version or a simultaneous PC launch.<\/p>\n\n\n
