The proposals include a tariff<\/a> of 10% on Canadian oil and 25% on global steel and cargo from Mexico<\/strong>, which could have a negative impact on both the industry and American consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n

During his campaign, President Donald Trump received tens of millions of dollars from the oil industry in exchange for promises of favorable policies <\/strong>that, ironically, contradict the effects that such policies could have on costs for consumers.<\/p>\n\n\n
