Mortal Kombat 2 made its debut<\/a> in arcades in 1993, setting a new standard for fighting games. However, despite its popularity, the consoles of the time could not replicate the arcade experience. Now, more than 30 years later, a developer has managed to port the iconic game to the 3DO console, which was also released in 1993 and created by Trip Hawkins, founder of Electronic Arts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

A failure driven by an absolutely abusive price<\/h2>\n\n\n

The 3DO stood out for its licensing model, allowing various manufacturers to create compatible devices. However, its launch price of 699 dollars, which would be approximately 1,500 dollars today, resulted in a commercial failure<\/strong>. Despite this, the new port of Mortal Kombat 2 has shown that the console was capable of delivering remarkable performance, developing the game from scratch using resources from the original arcade version.<\/p>\n\n\n
