Fewer and fewer sites rely on Java to serve content so chances are, if you remove it, you won&#8217;t miss it.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how to uninstall Java from your Mac:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>1. Go to <strong>Finder<\/strong> and select your <strong>Applications<\/strong> folder<\/p>\n<p>2. Note that Java won&#8217;t appear in the Applications folder as an app because it&#8217;s only installed as a preference pane. However, you can search the folder for &#8220;Java&#8221; and find it:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-29953\" title=\"Java Search Mac\" src=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/sft\/articles\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/10\/Java1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/10\/Java1.png 600w, https:\/\/articles-img.sftcdn.net\/auto-mapping-folder\/sites\/3\/2012\/10\/Java1-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. Drag <strong>Java<\/strong> <strong>Preferences<\/strong> and <strong>Java VisualVM<\/strong> to your Trash.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can use an uninstaller such as <a href=\"http:\/\/appcleaner.en.softonic.com\/mac\"><strong>AppCleaner<\/strong><\/a>.
