In a clash between two of Silicon Valley\u2019s most prominent figures, Bill Gates has launched a scathing attack on Elon Musk<\/strong>, accusing him of actions that could cost millions of lives in the world\u2019s poorest regions. The controversy centers on Musk\u2019s role in the closure of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), a move that Gates claims is already endangering vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Controversial decisions at the heart of the conflict<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The dispute emerged after the Department of Government Efficiency (DoGE), reportedly led by Musk, \u201cde facto\u201d shut down USAID<\/strong>, the key channel for U.S. international aid. Gates denounced this as a reckless act, leaving tons of medicine and food undelivered<\/strong>, threatening to trigger outbreaks of diseases like HIV, measles and polio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One case Gates emphasized was a cut to a hospital in Gaza, Mozambique<\/strong>, which had successfully reduced HIV transmission from mothers to babies. He argued that Musk confused the location with the Gaza Strip in Palestine, wrongly suspecting the aid was meant for Hamas.
