Despite the game enjoying notable success in the competitive arena, the scarcity of imitators in the genre is surprising, especially compared to other styles like MOBA or battle royale.

Only one game is daring to follow its legacy

One of the most striking changes in Rocket League was the transition of the Snow Day mode to a ranked playlist, which has had a profound effect on the player experience. This mode, which replaces the soccer ball with a puck, has attracted many fans and has allowed communities centered around it to be built.

However, despite its popularity, titles inspired by Rocket League have been few. Some games that reflect its physical approach are Hockey? and Slapshot, but they fail to capture the essence of Psyonix’s unique formula. Recently, Sloclap has released Rematch, an early access soccer game on Steam that, while not strictly physical and lacking flying cars, has garnered promising results in its betas. The influence of Rocket League is such that when observing Rematch, many players, instead of thinking of a conventional soccer game, evoke memories of the Rocket League experience.

So while fans celebrate Rocket League on its tenth anniversary, they wonder if they will ever see a wave of games that follow its legacy in the world of esports.

        Steam
        DOWNLOAD

        <text class="rating-score__number" content="" text-anchor="middle" transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 25 31.0837)" data-auto="app-user-score"></text>

Rocket League is preparing to celebrate its tenth anniversary, a significant milestone for the game launched on July 7, 2015.
