In the early 2000s, television began to shine like never before. Although it was in the 90s that the idea started to germinate that it could have prestige and importance, it wouldn’t be until a decade later that it was truly considered that there could be something valuable and not just mere entertainment to pass the time on it<\/strong>. It was thanks to HBO networks, with high-quality series and cinematic packaging, but also CBS and other networks that were interested in raising the quality.<\/p>\n\n\n

There are many series from that era that had a lot to do with the explosion of television as we know it today. Naming them all is absurd and would be enough for a book<\/strong>. But what we can mention is the specific series that is now returning with a sequel and has taken the American audience and critics by storm: Dexter.<\/p>\n\n

\r\n SkyShowtime is a streaming platform from which you can stream series, movies, and entertainment programs in video on demand (VOD) format. It is an ambitious project by SkyShowtime Limited, available in Spain and 20 other countries in the European Union and its area of influence, such as Norway or Bosnia and Herzegovina. SkyShowtime aims to carve out a niche in the market thanks to its very competitive prices. Thus, they will compete with services like Netflix or Disney+, two similar platforms that have increased their prices recently.<\/span>\r\n <\/div>\r\n

A legendary series from Showtime<\/h2>\n\n\n

If you’ve been living under a rock, Dexter is the adaptation of a series of novels by Jeff Lindsay. With eight seasons and three showrunners aired between 2006 and 2013, the series starred Michael C. Hall, who was catapulted to stardom thanks to it, and although it is remembered with passion today, its last two seasons were not without their detractors<\/strong>. But let’s not kid ourselves. The series finale was watched by 2.8 million viewers, shattering all the network’s records and setting a staggering figure even for today.<\/p>\n\n\n

Surprisingly, they let the series rest for a long time. Its first sequel would not arrive until 2021 with a single season and a rather lukewarm reception, under the name Dexter: New Blood. And more recently it was rescued again, with better reception among the audience but with no enthusiasm from the critics, at the end of 2024 with Dexter: Original Sin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n
