This episode, which marked the long-awaited recovery of Winterfell by the Starks, focuses on the central figure of Jon Snow and his confrontation against the Boltons, led by the ruthless Ramsay Bolton.

An intense battle also for its actors

The trigger for this intense battle is the tragic death of Rickon Stark, who is killed by an arrow shot by Ramsay. This act of violence causes Jon Snow, consumed by fury and the desire for revenge, to charge alone against the enemy army, thus initiating a brutal confrontation between the two houses. Thanks to the vision of the showrunners, David Benioff and DB Weiss, the aim was to create an unprecedented fight that immerses the viewer in the chaos of the battlefield, with choreography that includes flying arrows, galloping horses, and the harsh reality of war.

The battle not only stands out for the violence and palpable tension in every scene, but it also underscores the crucial role of Sansa Stark. Her decisive intervention helps tip the scales in favor of the Starks, providing an emotional and satisfying closure to the long struggle to reclaim their home. This dynamic narrative and the stunning visual display have contributed to making Game of Thrones a benchmark in the way war is portrayed on the small screen.

With a shoot that required 55 nights to complete this epic sequence, the creators have demonstrated their mastery in creating battles that, as promised, are hard to match in modern television. This episode therefore underscores not only a climactic moment in the plot but also an evolution in the narrative that has captivated audiences around the world.

        Amazon Prime Video
        DOWNLOAD

        <text class="rating-score__number" content="" text-anchor="middle" transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 25 31.0837)" data-auto="app-user-score"></text>

Episode 9 of season 6 of Game of Thrones, titled The Battle of the Bastards, has had a great impact among fans and critics of the series, establishing itself as one of the most memorable moments in television history.
