Additionally, the series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has also been renewed, reflecting the channel’s growing confidence in the ongoing success of the saga and its intention to further expand the universe created by George R. R. Martin.

A Year of Game of Thrones

HBO has established a concrete schedule for upcoming releases, with House of the Dragon set to return in the summer of 2026, while A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has a scheduled release date for early 2026. These two series are designed to maintain a constant presence on screen, as HBO plans to release new seasons of both productions in 2027 and 2028, respectively. This strategic approach is a clear attempt to ensure that the franchise regains its lost momentum.

Despite these optimistic plans, the series House of the Dragon has not been without challenges. The criticism of the second season, which ended on a disappointing note, raises concerns about the future. However, the renewal of both series offers multiple opportunities for the narrative to regain its magnetism and meet the expectations of the most loyal followers. Francesca Orsi, HBO’s programming head, expressed her excitement about being able to offer new seasons over the next three years, highlighting Martin’s rich imagination.

In a landscape that has seen delays and inherent uncertainty, HBO’s commitment to House of the Dragon and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms suggests that the franchise may be on its way to a significant recovery. Fans can expect more adventures in Westeros in the coming years, hoping that these new installments will meet the high expectations set by previous seasons.

        Max
        DOWNLOAD

        <text class="rating-score__number" content="" text-anchor="middle" transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 25 31.0837)" data-auto="app-user-score"></text>

The series House of the Dragon has established itself as HBO’s first significant success since the end of Game of Thrones in 2019, marking a new beginning in the universe of Westeros.
