A move that has surprised many, as the last installment did not make a profit at the box office and it seemed that the saga starring Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan had fallen into oblivion. However, pressure from former President Donald Trump may have changed the course of the project, according to reports from Deadline.

Finally, Trump can bring us something good

It is reported that Trump has been in talks with David Ellison, CEO of Paramount Pictures and personal friend, urging him to resume Rush Hour 4. This announcement was followed by the confirmation that Brett Ratner, who has been excluded from the industry since 2017 after being accused of multiple sexual abuses, will be the director of the new installment. Ratner’s selection has generated controversy, especially given his history and the fact that his return to directing seems linked to the release of a documentary about Melania Trump, the wife of the former president.

The decision by Paramount to revive this project has been unexpected, as several studios had previously rejected the idea of continuing the franchise. Warner Bros. had tried to move the project to different studios without success, with the original cast in a package that included Ratner, Chan, and Tucker. The inclusion of Rush Hour 4 in Paramount’s strategy raises questions about its viability in the current cinematic landscape, especially considering the outcome of other late sequels like “Bad Boys for Life”.

As details unfold, the future of Hora Punta 4 seems uncertain, and fans of the franchise and the film industry will be watching closely to see if this return does justice to the legacy of the saga.

        Amazon Prime Video
        DOWNLOAD

        <text class="rating-score__number" content="" text-anchor="middle" transform="matrix(1 0 0 1 25 31.0837)" data-auto="app-user-score"></text>

After almost 18 years since the release of Rush Hour 3, plans have been announced to carry out Rush Hour 4.
