Although del Toro stepped away from the project in 2015, it has remained a source of interest among followers of the DC universe.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A movie that could have been legendary<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2020, J.J. Abrams tried to revitalize the idea with a television approach, but that initiative also ended up being canceled. <strong>Before Abrams, Doug Liman had made an attempt in 2015 to bring the story to the big screen, just after del Toro left the project<\/strong>. During that process, the director mentioned in the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he already had an actor in mind to play Deadman and that a cameo of an iconic hero from the DC universe would be included.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Justice League Dark - Official Trailer\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NsBnnM2qjAo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the fact that del Toro has expressed his interest in Justice League Dark,<strong>as well as a conversation with James Gunn about the possibility<\/strong> of reviving the project, there are still no confirmations about its continuity.
