It will now be owned by a group of Great American Patriots and Investors, the Biggest in the World, and will be an important Voice.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/touh2ZgHgR\">pic.twitter.com\/touh2ZgHgR<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Pop Base (@PopBase) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PopBase\/status\/2014550954415460701?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 23, 2026<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There was a choice between closure or sale: they chose sale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The closing of the transaction ends a multi-year effort to ensure TikTok&#8217;s long-term future in the United States and to dispel concerns that it posed a risk to national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe joint venture, predominantly U.S.-owned, will operate under defined guarantees that protect national security through comprehensive data protections, algorithm security, content moderation, and software guarantees for U.S. users,\u201d the group stated in a statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The joint venture will be led by CEO Adam Presser, who previously led TikTok&#8217;s efforts to protect the data of American users in the United States, and security director Will Farrell, who oversaw privacy and security for the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be supervised by a council that includes <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/who-is-shou-zi-chew-knows-current-ceo-tiktok\">TikTok&#8217;s CEO in the United States, Shou Chew<\/a>; Kenneth Glueck, Executive Vice President of the Office of the CEO of Oracle; and representatives from the investment firm Susquehanna International Group and the private equity firm Silver Lake, the Emirati investment firm MGX, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/the-future-of-tiktok-will-be-decided-in-the-coming-days-in-a-meeting-between-donald-trump-and-xi-jinping\">Trump thanked Chinese President Xi Jinping for<\/a> &#8220;working with us and ultimately approving the deal. He could have done otherwise, but he didn&#8217;t, and his decision is appreciated,&#8221; Trump said in his post on <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/115942147803684675\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Truth Social<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who benefits from this agreement?
