Despite his status, the actor has felt frustrated for not being able to work with one of the directors he admires most: Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Gere has expressed on several occasions his desire to collaborate on a film project with Kapur, <strong>known for outstanding works such as The Bandit Queen and Elizabeth, the latter acclaimed with seven Oscar nominations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Decades chasing him that have not gone far<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gere&#8217;s interest in working together with Kapur dates back to the nineties, when he was so impressed by The Bandit Queen that, as he recalled in an interview with The Daily Eye, he even knelt down and begged the director to make a film with him.
