This seems to be shared with its sequel, at least in part. It has completely divided the press: there are as many fans as there are true haters.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Divisive Movie<\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/mortal-kombat-ii-2-movie-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">IGN, which gave it an 8 out of 10<\/a>, the movie &#8220;completely understands that its appeal lies in the thrill of watching characters tear each other apart, not so much the motivations behind it.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slashfilm.com\/2165056\/mortal-kombat-2-movie-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Slashfilm, which agrees with its rating<\/a>, <strong>has described it as &#8220;if the mix of chocolate and peanut butter were a movie,&#8221; stating that &#8220;easily one of the biggest surprises of the year&#8221;<\/strong>. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.20minutos.es\/cinemania\/criticas\/critica-mortal-kombat-2-mejor-adaptacion-videojuego-jamas-filmada_6967165_3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">in Cineman\u00eda<\/a>, with three and a half stars out of five, has defined it as &#8220;highly enjoyable for both nostalgic fans and those who have never picked up a joystick in their lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Mortal Kombat II | Official Trailer II\" width=\"840\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b24oG7qCwp4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That doesn&#8217;t mean everything is enthusiasm. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/mortal-kombat-2-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">For Polygon, which did not give it a rating<\/a>, &#8220;calling it a movie is, in fact, tremendously generous.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.avclub.com\/mortal-kombat-ii-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">According to AV Club<\/a>, <strong>Mortal Kombat 2 &#8220;combines direct-to-video trinkets with the boredom typical of a blockbuster&#8221;<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/mortal-kombat-ii-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">for Mashable<\/a> it is simply &#8220;another ugly and senseless disaster.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The movie, divisive as it has been, <strong>seems to be less so due to flaws than because of a clear difference in the sensitivity of the critics approaching it<\/strong>. This could well play in its favor. Those who liked the first movie seem to find in this second one an even more intense and enjoyable journey. Those who hated it seem to find nothing here for them.
