\"safari-icon\"<\/a>In an attempt to make its browser more secure, Apple has updated Safari<\/a> to block old versions of Adobe’s Flash Player.<\/p>\n

It’s not very surprising that Apple has chosen to block old versions of Flash as the plug-in has been notoriously vulnerable to exploits. This news comes after Apple’s decision to block old versions of Java<\/a> as Oracle’s plug-in was vulnerable to attack. Even the most updated version of Java already has a known and exploited vulnerability<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apple, along with big companies like Microsoft and Google, have been hacked in the recent weeks due to a Java vulnerability. The company is taking security seriously by updating Safari so quickly. Other browsers like Firefox will begin blocking plug-ins by default<\/a>. Users will still be able to run the plug-ins if they so choose.<\/p>\n

Now when Safari users on OS X with outdated version of Flash try to visit a website that requires the plug-in, they will be met with this error message.<\/p>\n

Users will also be given a warning dialog about using an outdated version of Adobe Flash Player.<\/p>\n
