Very few actors have had a streak like Jim Carrey<\/a> between 1994 and 1995: Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, Batman Forever, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, and of course, The Mask<\/strong>. The adaptation of the comic book of the same name catapulted Carrey to success, cost 54 million dollars, and ended up grossing 343. The success was so great that a sequel was quickly promised… which didn’t arrive until eleven years later: Son of the Mask didn’t interest anyone and the saga ended there forever. Or did it?<\/p>\n\n\n

Well, apparently, the director of that movie doesn’t care that 32 years have passed, because it’s always a good time to bring The Mask<\/a> back. If you’re surprised, take a look at his credits from recent years, because he hasn’t returned to top-tier cinema since 2002 with The Scorpion King<\/strong>. Of course, with these credentials, he would do whatever it takes.<\/p>\n\n\n

This is not the first time he talks about the subject, but few times so directly: “It is always talked about. There was a sequel, don’t forget about Son of the Mask, which I avoided<\/strong>. They were kind enough to offer me the direction, but comedy is tougher than action. The Mask has comedy and action, but above all it was a comedy”<\/em>.
