Rockstar Games says Grand Theft Auto VI<\/a> is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026<\/strong>, and it’s describing the release as a \u201csingle-player experience.\u201d<\/a> That choice of words points pretty clearly to GTA Online<\/a> not being there at launch.<\/p>\n\n\n

The phrasing matters. If Rockstar had a major multiplayer mode<\/strong> ready for day one, it’d almost certainly say that outright. That doesn’t mean online multiplayer won’t return to Vice City<\/a> later<\/a>. It just looks like it’d arrive on a different schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rockstar has handled things this way before. GTA Online<\/a> went live about two weeks after<\/strong> Grand Theft Auto V<\/a> in 2013, and Red Dead Online showed up after Red Dead Redemption 2 rather than at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s also what Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has said. He has \u201cevery reason to believe<\/strong>\u201d the current GTA Online will keep getting support, helped by its huge player base and reported, though still unconfirmed, revenue of $1 million a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
