Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance<\/a>, Atlus’s full standalone edition of the 2021 RPG Shin Megami Tensei V<\/a>, came out on June 14, 2024<\/strong>. This isn’t a patch, a DLC extra, or the kind of paid upgrade pack you’d associate<\/a> with something like a Nintendo Switch 2 release.<\/p>\n\n\n

It launched on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X\/S, and PC, which finally ended the game’s Switch-only stretch. If you already own the original Switch version, though, there’s no free upgrade<\/strong> and no discount path into Vengeance. Atlus sells it as its own separate release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vengeance adds a new Canon of Vengeance<\/strong> route next to the original Canon of Creation, along with new characters, more demons, and major narrative changes late in the game. It also adds save-anywhere support, clearer maps, and broader balance changes that make exploration and progression feel smoother without stripping out the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
