The Special Edition adds a sleeve, a lenticular postcard, a cloth patch, and an artbook. Retailer listings also show North American pre-orders are open, though there still hasn’t been any widely reported confirmation of an Asian release.

The game was developed by Sluggerfly and Team Meat. Headup handled digital publishing, while Meridiem took care of the retail side. The big shift here is that Super Meat Boy‘s precision platforming has moved from 2D into 3D.

If you remember the 2010 original, you probably remember why it caught on: it was brutal, fast, and incredibly responsive. Reports at the time said Super Meat Boy had sold more than 1 million copies by January 2012, and later estimates put PC sales at 2.97 million.

Early reviews suggest Super Meat Boy 3D still feels sharp in motion and responsive in your hands. At the same time, the usual 3D complaints are there too, especially camera angles and depth perception, which can make some deaths feel less fair than they should.

If you collect the series, or just want to see how its tough-as-nails formula works in 3D, this physical release is worth a look.

You can find Super Meat Boy 3D now at European retailers for Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5.

Super Meat Boy 3D got its physical release in Europe today, June 30, 2026.
