Google is starting to roll out Ask Gemini<\/a> and Overviews in the Google Drive<\/a> apps for Android and iPhone, bringing AI-generated summaries<\/strong> and plain-language search to mobile.<\/p>\n

On Google’s account, you’ll now see short summaries<\/strong> right in Drive search results before you even open a file or folder. You can also use Ask Gemini<\/a> to ask follow-up questions about documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, and folders, with added context pulled in from apps such as Gmail<\/a> and Google Calendar.<\/p>\n\n

Google also says Drive’s existing security and permission settings<\/strong> still apply, so Gemini should only show content you already have access to. The feature is launching in English and 28 other languages.<\/p>\n\n

If you search through Drive files on your phone all the time, this update could save you a lot of tapping. Finding budget updates, project details, or meeting notes should be quicker when you don’t have to open file after file just to check what’s inside.<\/p>\n\n

Google says these features are available in the Google Drive app on Android and iOS, but only on paid plans<\/strong>. That includes Google One AI Premium, along with Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
