The movie follows pilot Mills, who crash-lands on Earth 65 million years ago and has to keep the young survivor Koa alive while dinosaurs are everywhere. You don\u2019t need any franchise backstory to jump in, and you don\u2019t need to carve out a huge chunk of time<\/strong> either. It had already shown the same kind of streaming pull on Netflix<\/a> and Hulu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

And those viral claims making the rounds are wrong. “65” reportedly cost about $45 million<\/strong>, not $1 billion. Its Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> scores sit at 35% from critics and 64% from audiences, after a disappointing theatrical run that ended with about $32.1 million domestic, $28.6 million international, and roughly $60.7 million worldwide.<\/p>\n\n

Critics argued that Scott Beck and Bryan Woods wasted the Adam Driver-versus-dinosaurs setup with thin characters<\/strong>, a tone that takes itself too seriously, and a script that\u2019s less fun than the premise makes you expect. Still, if you\u2019re in the mood for a tense, straightforward 90-minute action thriller, this one\u2019s easy to try.<\/p>\n\n
