Google has added Collections to Gemini Notebook<\/strong>, a new organization feature that’s rolling out now and gives people a far better way to handle growing notebook libraries inside Google’s source-grounded research assistant.<\/p>\n

You can now group related notebooks into custom sets<\/strong> for work, research, study, or personal topics. And because Collections behave more like playlists than folders, the same notebook can live in multiple groups at the same time, which helps when your subjects overlap. At launch, though, Collections are personal only and can’t be shared.<\/p>\n\n

Gemini Notebook is still Google’s source-grounded research assistant<\/strong> for your documents, PDFs, notes, and other materials, not the open web, so this tackles a real headache for heavy users with crowded libraries. It also lands just days after Google rebranded NotebookLM<\/a> as Gemini Notebook on July 16, 2026, alongside newer additions such as secure cloud-computer support for code execution and data analysis, broader Gemini app syncing, and planned integration with Google Search<\/a>‘s upcoming Mode experience.<\/p>\n\n

If you use Gemini Notebook a lot for source-heavy projects, you’ll probably want this as soon as it shows up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Collections is rolling out now in Gemini Notebook, but the release looks gradual<\/strong>. So far Google has shared only limited details about country and language availability, and some users, especially in Europe, are reporting slower access.<\/p>\n
