\"\"<\/a>Facebook<\/a> is aiming to strengthen its social network by acquiring Storylane, a story telling service. Storylane was a company in an infancy, launching back in October of 2012. Today, Storylane CEO, Jonathan Gheller, put up a message<\/a> on the site saying they have been acquired by the social network giant, Facebook.<\/p>\n

This move makes strategic sense as Facebook already has Facebook Stories<\/a>, a forgotten site of Facebook where people can share stories in creative ways. Facebook Stories never really got off the ground and is more of a beta of what’s possible with more detailed human interaction on Facebook. Looking at the current Facebook Stories site, users can clearly see a resemblance to the social blogging service, Tumblr<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The acquisition of Storylane actually makes quite a bit of sense. Last week, Facebook revealed its updated News Feed<\/a> with a more visual experience. Photographs and video all show up bigger, taking up quite a bit more room than the old News Feed. This creates a feeling of intimacy, a feeling that your friends are actually trying to show you something and not just blasting it to passers-by.<\/p>\n

There’s no indication of how Facebook will integrate Storylane into Facebook so only time will tell. Perhaps Facebook will create a rival blogging platform to Tumblr? What do you think Facebook will do with Storylane?<\/strong><\/p>\n
