Still, the version shown in the app points to a <strong>widget that would let you<\/strong> jump straight into a listening session from your home screen, without opening the app first and digging through different modes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Google ships it in its current form, it could make <strong>quick in-person translation<\/strong> a lot easier when you&#8217;re asking for directions, checking into a hotel, or trying to get through a short conversation in another language.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The early app clues also hint at a few built-in controls: muting the mic, stopping the session, and choosing whether translated audio comes through your speaker or your earpiece.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right now, based on what&#8217;s visible in the files, this seems closer to <strong>one-way listening<\/strong> than a full two-way conversation mode.
