The whole thing leans into durability, self-repair, and reanimation. This doesn’t look like a faction built around speed. It looks like one that keeps coming, wears you out, and turns attrition into a weapon. The Power Matrix also appears to spread Necron territory while restoring tomb structures that generate resources, which points to a slow, inevitable expansion across the map instead of some reckless early rush.

The trailer also confirms Chronomancer Thothmek and Ahmnok, former ruler of Kronus, along with Necron Warriors, Deathmarks, the Monolith, and a C’tan Shard of the Void Dragon. So yes, a lot of the faction’s signature tools are here.

If you like classic RTS factions that win by grinding opponents down, this is one to watch. Early reaction has been strong, mostly because the playstyle comes through right away, and that ominous, seemingly unkillable Warhammer 40K feel is all over the trailer.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 launches on PC on September 17, 2026. KING Art Games is developing it, Deep Silver is publishing it, and at launch you’ll be able to play Blood Ravens Space Marines, Orks, Adeptus Mechanicus, or Necrons in skirmishes, multiplayer, a 70+ mission solo or co-op campaign, and the returning Last Stand mode.

There’s a new Necrons faction trailer out for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 ahead of the game’s September 17, 2026 PC launch, and it paints them as exactly what you’d want from Necrons: cold, relentless, and very hard to put down.
