Shipping is expected in September or October 2024, and most of the early reporting points to an October release.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Early reports say this premium set will closely follow the Japanese <strong>4-disc box<\/strong>. That would mean both the original color version and <em>Godzilla Minus One\/Minus Color<\/em>, along with English subtitles and English-language menus. For U.S. fans, that\u2019s a big deal. Yamazaki\u2019s film opened in Japan on November 3, 2023, timed to the Godzilla franchise\u2019s 70th anniversary, and it went on to become a rare foreign-language breakout in North America. The postwar setting helped. So did the emotional core, and of course the huge destruction set pieces.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you collect Godzilla releases, this one seems like an easy pickup. On a reported <strong>$10 million to $15 million<\/strong> budget, the film earned more than $116 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing Japanese-produced Godzilla movie, based on the reported box-office numbers. It also won Best Visual Effects at the 96th Academy Awards, the first Oscar the franchise has ever taken home, with effects work delivered by a team of roughly 35 people.
