Google says Gemini<\/a> passed 1 billion monthly active users<\/strong> in August 2026. That makes it the fastest-growing product in the company\u2019s history. By Google\u2019s count, Gemini climbed from 400 million users in May 2025 to 900 million by May 2026. Then it went from 950 million to more than 1 billion in less than a month. At that size, Gemini is now one of the biggest consumer platforms in tech, and easily one of Google\u2019s biggest growth stories.<\/p>\n

That adds more heat to the race with OpenAI\u2019s ChatGPT<\/a> across mobile, the web, and workplace tools. ChatGPT reportedly reached<\/a> 1 billion users<\/strong> in June 2026 and still leads overall chatbot share. But recent reports suggest ChatGPT\u2019s growth is slowing while Gemini keeps gaining ground through Android, Chrome, Google Search, and Google Workspace. Google also says Gemini-powered AI Overviews in Search now reach about 2.5 billion monthly users.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019re already using Google apps all the time, Gemini is getting hard to ignore. Google says it now has more than 8 million<\/strong> paid seats across 2,800 companies. Paid Enterprise users grew 40% quarter over quarter in Q1 2026. About 63% of users interact with Gemini by voice. One in five interactions involves screen sharing or a live camera, and the platform generates more than 150 million images a day.<\/p>\n\n

You can use Gemini on the web, Android, iOS<\/a>, and in Google Workspace.<\/p>\n
