Fast & Furious is a very popular franchise that has always posted excellent numbers. With its finale set for March 17, 2028, Vin Diesel has done his part to make sure we\u2019re excited by then<\/strong>. \u201cI just read Mike Lesslie\u2019s \u2018Fast Forever\u2019 script. It\u2019s the best script I\u2019ve read in decades. I\u2019m still crying\u2026\u201d, the actor has even gone so far as to say of the new film that will close the saga forever. At least in theory.<\/p>\n

A film at risk<\/h2>\n\n

The problem is that the film\u2019s director, Louis Leterrier, seems to be less enthusiastic than the actor. And that\u2019s what he said in an interview with Polygon. \u201c<\/em>I\u2019d love to tell you the whole truth, but I can\u2019t. There will be an ending, and it\u2019s great. I was very, very lucky to be part of the franchise, I love Vin and Universal<\/strong>. It\u2019s great working with them. So yes. We\u2019ll see, hopefully\u201c<\/em>, making it clear that there\u2019s a major problem with the film.<\/p>\n\n

A problem that seems to go beyond a simple disagreement. As he said in the same interview, \u201cI\u2019m not going to direct it now because I\u2019m finishing another film, but yes, this franchise will have an ending. They\u2019ve made a roller coaster! They have to finish it. Someone has to finish it<\/strong>\u201c. Something that raises the question of whether he\u2019s going to finish the film and when. Because while March 17, 2028 sounds like a very distant date, it isn\u2019t quite so distant when it comes to filming and post-production. And that means the film could very well be delayed.<\/p>\n\n

All of this certainly seems to mean that there\u2019s a much more complex story than Leterrier is telling here, although we still can\u2019t say for sure. So, for now, all that\u2019s left is to wait and see whether we\u2019ll finally see the last Fast & Furious film<\/a> in 2028<\/strong>.
