It\u2019s a non-commercial mod for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt<\/a> that brings Andrzej Sapkowski\u2019s first Witcher book, The Last Wish, into the game as a story-driven prequel.<\/p>\n

The early 2025 build<\/strong> adapts \u201cThe Lesser Evil\u201d in Blaviken, the official site says, and lets players go through the events that give Geralt the \u201cButcher of Blaviken\u201d nickname. The team isn\u2019t pitching it as a full new RPG campaign. The goal is a more cinematic faithful action-adventure experience. It leans on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt\u2019s combat, questing, and exploration systems to recreate short-story material the games never adapted scene by scene, with custom quests, new characters, tailored environments, volunteer English and Polish voice work, and development led mainly by Samuel Ch using CD Projekt Red\u2019s official REDkit<\/a> tools.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019ve been hoping to see more of Sapkowski\u2019s books adapted straight into a game, this alpha looks worth downloading<\/strong>. The project\u2019s official website says it has already pulled in more than 2,000 downloads, which suggests a lot of fans feel the same.<\/p>\n\n
