Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, and it launches on October 23, 2026. That makes it the first Call of Duty release on a Nintendo system since Call of Duty: Ghosts showed up on Wii U back in 2013.

Modern Warfare 4 is also the first game released under Microsoft’s 10-year deal with Nintendo, the one that promised same-day launches with Xbox and the same features across both versions. Early beta previews back that up pretty well: near-steady 60fps in both docked and handheld play, plus cross-play, DLSS, and Joy-Con 2 mouse support.

There is a catch, and it sounds pretty obvious once people put it on a TV. Testers have pointed to soft image quality, short draw distance, muddy textures, and noticeable pop-in. Even so, some of those same early impressions say it looks better in handheld and is a pretty impressive technical result for the hardware.

Multiplayer seems to be where the Switch 2 version holds up best. The campaign, maybe less so. One early test mentioned regular stutters, which means the open beta running from August 28 to September 1, 2026 might not tell you everything.

If you’ve been waiting to play Call of Duty on Nintendo again, Modern Warfare 4 looks like a real option. Still, the beta is probably the smart place to start.

So yes, you’ll be able to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, and you won’t have to wait until October 23, 2026 to get a feel for it. The beta lands first.

Call of Duty is coming back to Nintendo.
