On August 25, 2026, <a href=\"https:\/\/chatgpt.en.softonic.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">ChatGPT Work<\/a> and Codex will once again have a <strong>five-hour cap<\/strong>. OpenAI had lifted that cap on July 12 and left it off for about six weeks, but Plus users will now need to keep an eye on two limits again: a rolling five-hour cap and a broader weekly allowance. If you use ChatGPT Work or Codex a lot on ChatGPT Plus, pay attention. If you hit the five-hour cap, you&#8217;ll have to wait for that window to reset. And if you use up your weekly quota, you&#8217;re locked out unless you buy extra credits.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OpenAI also says the restored cap won&#8217;t apply to the <strong>$100 and $200<\/strong> Pro plans for at least the next few months. Enterprise and Edu plans are exempt too, since they run on a separate credit-based system.
