It\u2019s still headed for a <strong>July 9, 2027<\/strong> theatrical release.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s where some of the confusion comes from: Man of Tomorrow isn\u2019t the same movie as 2025\u2019s Superman. Superman, which was previously announced as Superman: Legacy, finished production earlier and is still lined up to launch the new DC Universe, or DCU, on <strong>July 11, 2025<\/strong>. James Gunn wrote and directed that film, with Peter Safran helping oversee the broader reboot.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Superman is still the <strong>first DCU movie<\/strong>, and it stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. Reported story details also suggest Clark is dealing with the fallout from an international conflict set off by Lex Luthor.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve been keeping up with the DCU rollout, that distinction matters. When Man of Tomorrow gets mistaken for Superman, it makes Superman look farther behind in the process than it actually is.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And right now, timing gets watched closely. Reports have said <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/james-gunns-superman-receives-its-first-reactions-and-they-are-not-what-you-expect\" rel=\"noopener\">Superman performed better<\/a><\/strong> than expected at the domestic box office but posted softer numbers internationally.
