You move through a dark forest, see a Los Iluminados ritual sacrifice, and slip past Ganados in a setup that leans much harder into stealth and straight survival horror.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also offers a pretty <strong>revealing glimpse at how much<\/strong> Capcom may have changed the remake during development. Fans had already noticed traces of this Ashley material in Capcom\u2019s pre-release marketing, before the company seems to have removed it, probably to make the opening quicker, more action-driven, and easier to replay.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve been following Resident Evil 4 remake closely, Chapter 0 is well worth a download as a curious piece of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/resident-evil-4-remake-has-a-dlc-beyond-mercenaries\" rel=\"noopener\">the game\u2019s history<\/a><\/strong>, even if the unfinished cutscenes, rough spots, and enemy behavior that doesn&#8217;t quite work make it feel more like a slice of the game in development than some lost DLC,<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and even if you come away thinking <strong>the final release<\/strong> works better without it;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">it\u2019s also a good reminder that <strong>the game\u2019s mod scene<\/strong> is still very much alive years later.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can download <strong>Chapter 0<\/strong> for the PC version of Capcom\u2019s Resident Evil 4 remake through the usual modding channels.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Modder Thekempy has released Chapter 0, a PC mod for Capcom\u2019s Resident Evil 4 Remake that brings back an opening sequence Capcom cut, rebuilding it as a playable prologue from leftover files and data still tucked away in the game.
