Guy Ritchie\u2019s action thriller In the Grey<\/em> has climbed to No. 5 on Prime Video<\/a> worldwide, per FlixPatrol. For Ritchie and star Henry Cavill, that gives them another streaming hit after the movie fell flat in theaters.<\/p>\n

FlixPatrol also shows In the Grey<\/em> trending in 16 countries<\/strong>, with the film at No. 1 in 14 of them, including Brazil, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. That\u2019s a very different story from its theatrical run: after opening in U.S. theaters on May 15, 2026, it brought in just $23.7 million worldwide against a $70 million budget.<\/p>\n\n

If you keep up with mid-budget action movies, this probably feels familiar. Ritchie and Cavill had a similar run with 2024\u2019s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare<\/em>, and In the Grey<\/em> is another example of how a weak box office debut doesn\u2019t tell the whole story anymore when a movie finds its audience on streaming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Critics were lukewarm<\/strong>, and In the Grey<\/em> still has a rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>. Audiences have been warmer, though, which tracks with the way star-driven, non-franchise action movies often struggle to pull people into theaters but do better once they\u2019re sitting on a home screen.<\/p>\n\n
