In the comics, that name points away from the Green Lantern Corps and much closer to Gotham, with a possible trail leading to Black Mask.<\/p>\n

Janus Cosmetics is tied directly to Roman Sionis<\/strong> in DC lore. He inherits the company, runs it into trouble, loses control after a string of business failures, and then gets rescued by Wayne Enterprises. That public embarrassment feeds his hatred of Bruce Wayne, and it\u2019s part of what pushes Roman Sionis toward becoming Black Mask and building the False Face Society.<\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s what makes the reference so interesting here. Lanterns<\/em> is playing as a grounded, True Detective<\/em>-style<\/strong> mystery built around Hal Jordan and John Stewart, but it may also be quietly sketching out James Gunn and Peter Safran\u2019s larger DC Universe, one where Gotham\u2019s criminal underworld already exists on the same board.<\/p>\n\n

There\u2019s another piece to throw in. Reported Clayface<\/em> set photos have shown Sionis Industries<\/strong> signage too, even though DC Studios still hasn\u2019t officially confirmed Black Mask for the new DC Universe or announced any casting.<\/p>\n\n

So if you\u2019re watching for signs of how the DC Universe might connect its cosmic heroes to Gotham\u2019s nastier crime corner, this Janus Cosmetics<\/strong> nod is one of the strongest hints so far.<\/p>\n\n
