Pacific Rim: A Cinematic Adventure is out now from Evil Genius Games. It\u2019s an officially licensed tabletop RPG set in Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Pacific Rim universe, and it lets you build Jaeger pilots, climb into towering machines, and go to war with invading Kaiju. The 128-page sourcebook<\/strong> runs on Evil Genius Games\u2019 Everyday Heroes<\/a> ruleset, which takes its cues from Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, so anyone who already knows modern tabletop games should have an easy way in. What you get out of it is pure Pacific Rim stuff: mech-versus-monster fights, synchronized launches, and those last-ditch battles in cities that are already half wrecked.<\/p>\n

Early reactions from players and critics have landed on the same point: it feels like Pacific Rim, not a licensed game that\u2019s just borrowing the names and logos.<\/p>\n\n

If you\u2019ve been looking for something that captures the films\u2019 mix of scale, style, and total sincerity, this one seems like<\/strong> a pretty easy recommendation.
