Foundation is heading to the tabletop. Creardo has announced a strategy-focused board game based on Isaac Asimov\u2019s sci-fi series, with a crowdfunding launch set for Gamefound<\/a><\/strong>, the latest step in Foundation\u2019s expansion.<\/p>\n

Creardo is developing the Foundation board game for Gamefound<\/a>, and there\u2019s still no full breakdown of the mechanics, player count, or release window. Still, the early material on BoardGameGeek<\/a> says the game is in playtesting<\/strong> and shows off a striking retro-futurist style pulled from the 1970s, a good match for the series\u2019 political maneuvering, long-range planning, and civilization-scale conflict.<\/p>\n\n

If you follow Foundation, or just have a soft spot for strategy-heavy tabletop games<\/a>, this one\u2019s worth keeping an eye on as the franchise keeps pushing past books and television.<\/p>\n\n

That\u2019s been happening for a while. Apple TV+<\/a> launched Foundation in 2021<\/strong>, and the David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman series, starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace, has already been renewed for a fourth season. Then came Foundation: Galactic Frontier<\/a>, the free-to-play sci-fi strategy RPG that launched on iOS, Android, and PC in October 2025 before arriving on Steam in January 2026.<\/p>\n\n

You can track the Foundation board game project through Gamefound, which has also hosted campaigns for Cyberpunk and The Lord of the Rings.<\/p>\n
