Nintendo hasn’t announced any game called Mario Kart World<\/a>, and there hasn’t been a 1.8.0 update<\/strong> for the Mario Kart series either, no matter what some new posts online are claiming.<\/p>\n

The rumor going around says players would get 10 Super Mario Kart<\/a>-style VS Race<\/strong> courses, including Choco Island 1 and 2, Vanilla Lake, and Ghost Valley, along with the KO Tour routes Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally. None of that has been confirmed by Nintendo. There’s no official title, no feature list, no release window, and no mention from the company, so if you follow Mario Kart closely, there’s no reason to treat this as real yet.<\/p>\n\n

The latest official expansion was Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/a>‘s Booster Course Pass. Nintendo released it in six paid waves from March 2022 through November 2023<\/strong>, and it was also included with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. According to Nintendo, it added 48 remastered tracks, which brought the total from 48 up to 96, and the later waves also added eight extra characters.<\/p>\n\n

Reports like this keep circulating because Nintendo has stayed quiet about a new mainline game, the one people usually call Mario Kart 9. Nintendo<\/strong> has confirmed is that Super Mario Kart launched in Japan on August 27, 1992, for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and sold 8.76 million copies.<\/p>\n\n

For now, if you want official Mario Kart content<\/strong> on Nintendo Switch, it’s still Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/a>. Super Mario Kart has also been released on the Wii Virtual Console<\/a> and the Super NES Classic Edition.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
