The Apothecary Diaries is getting its first console and PC game. The Apothecary Diaries: The False Imperial Brother has been announced for early 2027<\/strong>, with versions planned for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t a straight adaptation of the novels, manga, or anime. Natsu Hyuuga wrote a completely new story<\/strong> for it, with exclusive plot material and new characters, as Maomao digs into the \u201cFive Mysteries\u201d and the \u201cFive Curses\u201d across the rear palace, the pleasure district, and the capital. Tying it all together is a masked man who claims to be the emperor\u2019s younger brother.<\/p>\n\n

Players will explore each area, question witnesses, gather clues and evidence, and then use what they\u2019ve found in deduction sequences<\/strong> where Maomao presents proof and points out contradictions. There\u2019s also a medicine crafting system: Maomao heads outside the city for ingredients, then turns them into remedies that either help other characters or become evidence themselves. Gust is developing the game, and with Gust\u2019s Atelier<\/a> background, the crafting side could be one of the most interesting parts. If you\u2019ve been wanting more Maomao-led mystery solving, this already looks worth picking up.<\/p>\n\n

Jinshi will appear too, along with a new character named Guanyu and a traveling actor. The game will include Japanese voice acting, English text, and more subtitle options. And the series as a whole has a busy stretch ahead, with anime season 3<\/a> arriving in October 2026<\/strong>, a film set for December 2026, and a live-action adaptation lined up for 2028.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
