{"id":377691,"date":"2026-09-13T12:36:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-13T19:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms-articles.softonic.io\/en\/?p=377691"},"modified":"2026-09-13T12:36:03","modified_gmt":"2026-09-13T19:36:03","slug":"after-giving-kojima-the-boot-sony-announces-the-playtest-for-the-game-youd-least-expect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms-articles.softonic.io\/en\/after-giving-kojima-the-boot-sony-announces-the-playtest-for-the-game-youd-least-expect\/","title":{"rendered":"After giving Kojima the boot, Sony announces the playtest for the game you&#8217;d least expect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The playtesting platform Player.gg has received exclusive access, according to its own description of it, \u201cto a closed playtest of an unannounced competitive action shooter, codenamed Project Espresso, which is being developed by a AAA studio\u201d. <strong>It appears to be <a href=\"https:\/\/fairgame.en.softonic.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Fairgame$<\/a>, a live-service game from Haven Interactive Studios, a second-party PlayStation studio that was announced in 2023 and about which we still knew nothing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A game that&#8217;s been cooking for years<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to what we can tell from the description, \u201cProject Espresso is a competitive third-person shooter action game (PvPvE), where rival teams compete to infiltrate high-security locations, steal valuable cargo, and escape before their opponents\u201d. <strong>But as some recent leaks suggest, it&#8217;s likely that Fairgame$ has undergone a rebranding and that, when it is finally announced, it will be known as Break In<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With a trailer and a handful of screenshots, this is the first official look at a game that has already been announced for several years and we still haven&#8217;t seen. <strong>Which has also survived several PlayStation purges. Including the most recent one<\/strong>, which ended with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/playstation-cancels-kojimas-latest-video-game-and-that-tells-us-about-the-state-of-the-video-game-industry\" rel=\"noopener\">the cancellation of Hideo Kojima&#8217;s latest game<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/physint.en.softonic.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Physint<\/a>, which will ultimately be published by Xbox.
