GTI concept, a <strong>282 hp<\/strong> look at what an electric GTI from the brand could turn into.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It rides on the MEB Entry platform first shown with the ID. 2all concept, but the ID. GTI concept still sticks to the familiar GTI formula: compact size, front-wheel drive, an electronically controlled front differential lock, and chassis tuning aimed squarely at <strong>handling<\/strong>. Volkswagen says it&#8217;s meant to feel agile, predictable, and a bit more mischievous than the average family EV. And with 282 hp, it also tops the current 241 hp Golf GTI, which is a pretty clear sign the GTI badge isn&#8217;t being softened for the EV age.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volkswagen also says the ID. GTI concept carries over the usual GTI cues, just reworked for an electric car. You still get the low stance, red accents, chunky wheels, and hatchback shape, along with a cabin that blends <strong>digital screens<\/strong> with a few retro touches. On top of that, there are configurable steering, sound, and performance settings. So if you&#8217;re after a mainstream electric hot hatch that still has the feel of a real GTI, this one deserves a close look.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volkswagen still hasn&#8217;t nailed down production details, but the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.softonic.com\/articles\/volkswagens-id-2-electric-vehicle-spotted-testing-near-nurburgring\" rel=\"noopener\">regular ID. 2<\/a><\/strong> arrives first, then a road-ready GTI follows after. Pricing will matter a lot here.
