You play Davy, a scrawny zombie heading into a strange dungeon with one goal: kill the King of Monsters and bring back the frozen girl he loves.<\/p>\n\n

Combat stays up close. You’ll be swinging, biting, and parrying, and First Bite has one thing most demos don’t: your progress carries over<\/strong> into the full game.<\/p>\n\n

The big idea is the Style Eat system<\/strong>. Davy can consume monster cores to steal powers and transformations from creatures like werewolves and harpies. Then there’s Body Hack, which lets you mess with his body and swap abilities around for different builds.<\/p>\n\n

The dark humor and run-based dungeon setup bring to mind Dungeon Crawler Carl and Dead Rising<\/a>. It’s also got some of that same off-kilter energy people associate with Suda51 and Swery.<\/p>\n\n

GPTRACK50 is a new studio<\/strong>, but the team includes developers who’ve worked on Devil May Cry<\/a>. Early player feedback hasn’t been all praise, though. Some people have called the combat floaty, pointed out the lack of lock-on, and said the opening takes its time.<\/p>\n\n

If oddball action RPGs with a lot of personality are your thing, this is the kind of demo you should probably download.<\/p>\n\n
