Netflix<\/a> has now locked in Beyond the Society<\/em>, titled M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la sociedad<\/em> in Spanish, for a worldwide release on December 18, 2026<\/strong>. That clears up the earlier reports that had it debuting in December 2024.<\/p>\n

The three-part docuseries starts where the 1972 Andes survival story<\/strong> leaves off and stays with what followed over the next 50 years. It centers on the 16 survivors and on the families of those who died, including the ways grief, public attention, and changed relationships kept shaping their lives long after the crash itself.<\/p>\n\n

There\u2019s a direct connection here to J.A. Bayona\u2019s Society of the Snow<\/a><\/em>. Bayona\u2019s 2023 dramatization of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 won 12 Goya Awards<\/strong>, received two Oscar nominations, and reached 103.8 million views in the first half of 2024, according to Netflix. Survivors also praised the film for how accurate and sensitive it was.<\/p>\n\n

Beyond the Society<\/em> was co-created by J.A. Bayona and Carlos Torres, with Torres directing. The series takes Bayona and cast members back to the Valley of Tears and adds testimony from Frank Marshall, Piers Paul Read, and Pablo Vierci<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
