The Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Beginner Box had been set for November 13, 2026, and it was supposed to be the easiest on-ramp into the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek crossover: two ready-to-play decks, plus eight Jumpstart half-decks built for quick games without much pressure.

According to Wizards of the Coast, the cancellation comes down to production, logistics, and shipping delays, not to any larger issue with the Star Trek collaboration itself. The rest of the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek lineup is still unchanged.

For anyone coming to Magic through Star Trek, this was probably the box to pick up first, so losing it stings. It also leaves local game stores without the kind of simple entry product that tends to help new players actually sit down and start playing.

Online, the reaction has looked more disappointed than furious. The news also lands in what has already been a messy 2026 for Wizards of the Coast, with problems tied to Reality Fracture, The Hobbit, and several Secret Lair drops, plus broader supply-chain strain, Hasbro restructuring, layoffs, and staff concerns. There’s still no confirmed public connection between any of that and this cancellation.

So no, you won’t be able to buy the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Beginner Box. The other Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek products should still show up through the usual retail channels.
